‘In Transit’ Alternating Current Art Space: 9 September- 1 October
Excerpt from Artist Statement:
‘Exploring the idea travel plays in our everyday lives, scenes of daily commute take precedence in ‘In Transit.’ Stemming from images taken from the artist’s own experience, this show is in many ways a personal recollection of time and place. Be it on journeys home, work or holiday, Wallace seeks to capture individuals in transit and wait. Here figures are placed in environments both known and unknown in positions that recall moments of delay and progress. Despite such ambiguity, Wallace looks to capture a place and experience familiar to the viewer. Via a series of paintings, ‘In Transit’ examines the shared and isolated experience of travel.’
